The Imrali Delegation met with Nechirvan Barzani in Hewlêr (Erbil) city of the Federated Kurdistan Region today. The delegation made a statement at the Governor's Mansion about their Hewlêr contacts. All press organs in the Federated Kurdistan Region attended the statement. Many journalists from many countries also followed the statement.

 

Keskin Bayındır made a statement on behalf of the delegation at the Governor's Office and started his speech by thanking Omed Khoshnaw, the Governor of Hewlêr.

 

Bayindir said, "We started our talks with President Massoud Barzani and it lasted 1 hour 45 minutes. Our delegation conveyed Mr Öcalan's greetings and messages regarding the solution. Today we had a meeting with Nechirvan Barzani, the President of the Kurdistan Region. In the same way, we conveyed Mr Öcalan's greetings, and Mr Öcalan attaches importance to the thoughts of Massoud Barzani and Nechirvan Barzani for the development of the solution process."

 

Stating that they talked about the future of the Kurds in the meetings, Bayındır continued as follows: "We talked about how the solution and peace will develop, what should be the role of Kurdish actors in this process. The Kurdish people and the peoples of the Middle East expect a democratic solution to the Kurdish issue. The solution of the Kurdish issue in Turkey will positively affect Başur (Federated Kurdistan Region) and the Middle East. All the powers of the world are talking about the solution of the Kurdish issue. Kurdish actors will play the biggest role. Mr Öcalan is taking great initiative for the development of a solution and is trying to move the Kurdish issue from the ground of violence and conflict to the political and legal ground. This road map will also end the chaos and crisis in the Middle East. 

 

SOLUTION ON THE BASIS OF EQUALITY

 

Mr Massoud Barzani gave great support in this regard and said that he would support the process. We have been in Hewlêr for two days, we held two important meetings and both meetings went well. The results of these talks will be important not only for the future of the Kurdish people, but also for the future of the peoples of the Middle East. It will also pave the way for the resolution of all crises on a democratic and legal basis. The expectation and hope of our people in this process is a solution based on freedom, peace and equality. Kurdish actors, all institutions and organizations of the Kurdish people are approaching this issue on a national basis. They express their support for this process. Our delegation is completing its visit to Hewlêr and we are travelling from here to Sulaymaniyah. We will meet with Bafil Talabani and Kubat Talabani. We will make a written statement after these meetings. On behalf of the İmralı Delegation, we would like to thank for our meetings with Massoud Barzani and Nechirvan Barzani in Hewlêr."
