NEWS CENTER - Since the beginning of the year, 2 border guards, 4 civilians and 1 journalist have lost their lives, 1 border guard and 2 civilians have been wounded, 2 houses and 3 vehicles have been bombed and 4 villages have been evacuated in the attacks carried out by Turkey in the Federated Kurdistan Region.
Journalists and civilians in the region continue to lose their lives in Turkey's ongoing attacks against the Federated Kurdistan Region. Neither the Iraqi government nor the Kurdistan Regional Government has taken any stance against the attacks targeting the civilian population so far, and they continue to cooperate.
The balance sheet prepared by Rojnews on the attacks carried out since the beginning of 2025 is as follows:
* 6 January: Warplanes bombed a civilian's house in Avê village near Batufa town of Zaxo. As a result of the bombardment, the house and the vehicle in the garden of the house were damaged.
* 15 January: Drones and warplanes bombed the vehicle of Hussein Ahmed Abdullah, a civilian living in Gelale village near Mawet district of Sulaymaniyah, twice. Hussein Ahmed survived the attack, but his vehicle was destroyed.
* 24 December: A centre of Iraqi Border Guards was targeted with artillery shells in Shîlan village near Batufa town. As a result of the attack, 2 border guards were killed and 1 border guard was wounded. On the same day, warplanes bombed the house of a civilian in the same area and the house was completely destroyed.
* 26 January: Simultaneously with the visit of Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan to Baghdad, the vehicle of Peshmerga member Casim Mihemed was bombed near Dohuk. As a result of the attack, Casim Mihemed was wounded and his vehicle became unusable. On the same day, the house of a civilian named Najîb Zêringir in the village of Dêmka on the slopes of Zirzîr Mountain was targeted by artillery shelling and destroyed.
* 27 January: Warplanes bombed the town of Dînarte in Akrê district. Cafer Celal and his wife Sitî lost their lives as a result of the attack.
* On the same day, drones bombed a vehicle near Girdcal village in Çarqurne district of Ranya. Journalist Aziz Köylüoğlu, PYD member Dilawer Erebo and Kongra Star Coordination member Hêva Erebo were killed and a civilian was wounded in the attack.
* 7 February: A civilian's house was bombed in Mijê village of Amediyê district. The house was completely destroyed as a result of the attack.
*Civilians living in Nepaxî, Bêr Kekurê and Kafya villages in Zêbarî region of Gare Mountain region had to evacuate their villages and migrate to Dînarte and Akrê regions due to the attacks on the same day.
