Death toll rises to three in Pasur bridge collapse 2025-11-11 16:26:05   AMED – The death toll has risen to three after the collapse of a bridge pier under construction on the Pasur–Muş road, according to local sources.   The incident occurred about two kilometres from the centre of Pasur (Kulp) district in Amed (Diyarbakır), where a new road is being built to replace the old Pasur–Muş route, which will be submerged by a dam project. The bridge, reportedly being constructed by the General Directorate of Highways (KGM) and the State Hydraulic Works (DSİ), collapsed during work on the pier.   Three workers, Mehmet Şirin Yalçıner, Tahsin Dere, and Salih Lale, lost their lives in the collapse. Two others, Cüneyt Narin and Şehmus Anustekin, were reported to be in critical condition.   Co-mayors and local officials from the Peoples’ Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party, along with numerous residents, rushed to the scene to assist with the initial response. The victims were said to be employed by Maktaş Construction Company, which holds the contract for the bridge and road project.
