	ŞIRNEX - Hikmet Duman from DBP, who travelled from house to house in Şirnex to explain “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” of Abdullah Öcalan, said: “We are telling people about peace house by house, village by village.”

	Democratic Regions Party (DBP) and Peoples' Equality and Democracy (DEM) Party continue their activities in many cities in order to convey Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan's “Call for Peace and Democratic Society” to the wider public.&nbsp;

	&nbsp;

	DBP and DEM Party politicians are visiting neighbourhoods and villages in Şirnex (Şırnak) leaving no door unturned. During the visits, bot Öcalan’s call and the “1 million signatures for peace” campaign of the Peoples’ Democratic Congress (HDK), which has been ongoing since 16 January, are explained.&nbsp;

	6 THOUSAND SIGNATURES COLLECTED IN ŞIRNEX&nbsp;

	DBP Party Assembly (PM) Hikmet Duman said that they organise peace against war with their work. Stating that they have collected 6 thousand signatures so far in Şirnex within the scope of HDK's campaign, Duman said, “The aim of the campaign is 1 million signatures. However, we aim to collect more than 1 million signatures. The feature of this campaign is to socialise peace. This campaign was a call to the parliament, civil society organisations and political parties. These signatures to be given to the Parliament are important and meaningful in terms of bringing peace to the country.”

	THEY EXPLAIN CALL OF ÖCALAN &nbsp;

	Duman stated that they are explaining call of Öcalan to the people in addition to the campaign and said, “After the call of Kurdish People’s Leader Mr Abdullah Öcalan, we have put a work ahead of us as a party. Within the scope of this work, we visit our people and explain the meaning and importance of the call. We tell the people about peace. We explain what needs to be done for peace.”

	Duman added: “Botan (Mardin-Şırnak-Siirt region) people paid a great price in the struggle for freedom and democracy. Three lives in each family were given for this cause. In fact, it is this region that needs peace the most. Therefore, it embraces this signature campaign and takes it seriously. All oppressed peoples in Turkey have suffered from this war. Everyone stands to gain from peace. For this reason, we call on all the peoples of Turkey to embrace peace and this process.”
